I am often defined by my day job, but I am more than just an economist. I am proud of my professional accomplishments—such as testifying as an economic expert for the BC Supreme Court—but that’s probably not what you’ll find me talking about at a party. I’ve spent nearly three decades as a partner in Discovery Economic Consulting, but my love of community, biking and music are probably what I’ll spend more time talking about when you first meet me.
My love of community has led me to my current role as president of the Gorge Tillicum Neighbourhood Association—I have lived in the neighbourhood since 1988 with my wife Claudia and our two daughters Melanie and Rhianna. My car sits in our driveway so much it has more cobwebs than kilometres on it—this, combined with my role as president of Bike to Work Victoria, is how you know how passionate I am about alternative modes of transportation.

As for my love of music? Talk with me long enough and I’ll likely end up mentioning my guitars, 12 of them, and song writing. If we really get going I’ll probably even recite some lyrics to you. I may not be John, Paul or George, but music has always been an important way for me to share what I care about.
Community has been a big part of my life and these are some of the organizations I have been involved with:
President Gorge Tillicum Community Association 2009-Present
President of Bike to Work Week Victoria 2005-Present
Treasurer Spectrum Job Search Society 2006-2007
